Using the Zinio Pro Publishing Platform, you have many choices when it comes to how your customers will view and experience your content within an issue. This section describes the 4 different ways you can setup your content to perform on tablets and mobile devices. Your decision for the customer experience should be made prior to our teams processing of your PDF's.
PDF Replica (Tablet) Responsive View (Mobile): Most Popular Setup
Our most popular setup is the PDF Replica view on tablet devices and the Responsive layout on mobile devices. This setup presents readers on tablets with the PDF version, which displays as a high resolution replica of the print edition. Since the PDF would be too small for the articles to be read easily on mobile devices, the Responsive view presents the content in a more user-friendly manner that adjusts automatically to the multitude of screen ratios and sizes that exist.
For the tablet user, they see your issue exactly how it was designed for print. The issue does not require any editing in the Zinio Pro Publishing Platform. The content can be viewed as a single page when the tablet is held vertically and as spreads when it is held horizontally. Page zoom is also enabled.
For the mobile user, pages such as the cover and ads appear as PDF Replica. All articles appear as Responsive HTML layouts that adjust to the screensize of the device. Templates we create for your page layouts (sections) can be applied to each story. New stories can also be added. You can edit the content of your stories and add images, videos, images, gallerys, etc...
PDF Replica (Tablet) PDF Replica and Responsive View (Mobile)
This setup is slightly different from the first, because you let the reader also see the page on mobile devices as it was originally designed for print. The user can access the Responsive view on their mobile device by enabling it through a menu item. Instructions for how to access this viewing mode are provided within the App.

PDF Replica and Responsive View (Tablet) PDF Replica and Responsive View (Mobile)
This setup is slightly different from the last, because the reader has access to both the Responsive and the PDF Replica on both tablet and mobile devices. This gives the reader an additional viewing mode on the tablet device as well by enabling it through a menu item. Instructions for how to access this viewing mode are provided within the App.

PDF Replica (Tablet) PDF Replica (Mobile)
This is the least common setup, but it can be the most logical for some content. Both your mobile and tablet versions of your issue appear as PDF Replica. The issue does not require any editing in the Zinio Pro Publishing Platform. The content can be viewed as a single page when the tablet or mobile device is held vertically and as spreads when it is held horizontally. Page zoom is also enabled.
For graphic intense material such as comic books or instruction manuals, this is sometimes the best solution.
